The Sacred Valley invites you... Quichua-speaking people, ancient cultures, two thousand year-old petroglyphs, abundant wildlife... and the timelessness of the rainforest. The Sacred Valley is located in the foothills of the Cordillera de Huacamayos between Antisana Ecological Reserve, Sumaco Napo-Galeras National Park, and Llanganates National Park.
Day 1 Quito - Papallacta
Drive from Quito to Papallacta - hike in the area and stay overnight at Papallacta Hot Springs. (L,D)
Day 2 Papallacata - Tena - Sacred Valley
Drive via Baeza to Tena and arrival at the Sacred Valley (B,L,D)

Llaucana Cocha forms a part of the project "Huacamayo Urcu", which promotes both the sustainable development of the Amazon's natural resources and the ancestral culture of the indigenous population.
The project is supported by an Ecuadorian / Canadian development fund and the Foundation Sinchi Sacha. Sustainable tourism plays a key role in securing additional funds for this project.

Llaucana Cocha
It is a perfect gateway into the jungle. Directly from the Cabanas there are many excursions you can take, ranging from half or one-day hikes to longer trips. The flora and fauna will keep any keen birdwatcher, butterfly enthusiast or botanist content for days. Those who are less biologically-minded will nevertheless appreciate the rare and mysterious sensation inspired by being in the rainforest with the people who know it best.
In the surrounding area you will find more than 200 petroglyphs
- 2,000 year old symbolic rock carvings of great cultural significance.
Guests are invited to participate in all of the daily activities of the community. You will be introduced to the flora and fauna, medicinal plants, jungle foods and cuisine, traditional hunting techniques, spirit world, legends and "myths", as well as the present efforts to maintain a traditional way of life and survive in a modern world.
