The Equatorial Trail ( 3 Days )
Suggested Itinerary
This time, after starting our ride out of the fences of Green Horse Ranch at the bottom of Pululahua crater, we go zigzagging the Equator from South to North, and North to South for several times, meeting interesting evidences of the time when the French geodesic commission was measuring the “line” in what now is Ecuador, in the midst of the 18th century. We will pass our first night in a cottage inside the crater walls and the second night in the mighty walls of a 300-year-old colonial Hacienda, close to the thermal springs of Calacalí.
Our trail will lead us through traditional Andean farmland, eroded lahar fields where volcanic mineral water is oozing out of the ground, forests of bamboo mixed with primary cloud forests and mountain ridges with wide open views.
Participants: 2 to 8 participants with at least some experience
