From Quito, cyclists have access to a large diversity of rides ranging from snow-capped Andean volcanoes exhilarating páramo, cloud forest or jungle on hundreds of miles of mostly traffic-free unpaved roads and trails. The massive scale of the Ecuador's Andes turns cycling uphill into a torture, so most tours are essentially downhill. We have prepared a directory with trips for all levels combining the landscapes of the Andes and the lowlands in the Pacific coast and Amazon basin.

Cotopaxi-Chimborazo downhill biking adventure, 2 days : The two most important mountains in Ecuador, great downhill rides, Andean scenery at its best.

Cotopaxi-Quilotoa Crater mountain biking trip, 2 days : The worlds highest active volcano Cotopaxi and the famous Quilotoa loop, culture and scenery of the Andes at its best, great downhill rides.

Papallacta-San Rafael Falls, Andean descent into the Amazon, 2 days : This is an excellent way to see a cross section of Ecuador’s ecosystems in two days. As we travel, we are dwarfed by the striking Andes Mountains that surround us. You will pedal across the páramo – the Ecuadorian equivalent of the arctic tundra – and down through stunning cloud forest, traversing steep Andean slopes as you descend down into the Amazon basin.

Otavalo market and surroundings - biking trip, 2 days : Mountain biking to the Indigenous market of Otavalo and its surroundings is the best way to see the local culture. Ride off the beaten path into small artisan villages and enjoy some nice trails and scenery.

Mountain Biking Adventure from the Andes to the Amazon basin, 5 days : Ride downhill most of the way enjoying volcanoes, waterfalls and hot springs. Great adventure and cultural experience.

Mountain Biking Adventure, volcanoes and rainforest, 12 days : A unique adventure combining Ecuador´s highest peaks Cotopaxi and Chimborazo on fun safe downhill runs, visit the Amazon descending by old pathways into the rainforest. A true all around Ecuador expedition.

Highlands and Cloudforest mountain biking adventure, 4 days : A practical combination of riding sections south of Quito begins biking beneath the Cotopaxi volcano. The next few days lead us to the fertile valley of Niton and tracks of the Patate valley and finally to the Ilinizas twin peaks. These areas present a great variety of road conditions and single track trails.

Volcanoes and Indian Villages biking tour, 5 days : This trip will take us through some of the most impressive Andean sceneries Ecuador has to offer. We will begin biking in beautiful Cotopaxi National Park. The next few days lead us to Quilotoa Crater Lake, Mojanda Lake, Indian markets, and the unique Chota Valley.

ANDES and AMAZON BASIN BIKE RIDING TRIP (5 days) : All the climate steps in the World - high barren plain, highland rain forest, humid tropical rain forest. Plan to arrive early AM on day 1 at San Jorge Eco-Lodge and pack up to leave for your expedition. Crossing the Central Andes Chain, the majestic Cotopaxi Volcano and riding through traditional villages. Cross Patate, a green, flowering valley and relax in the magical hot spring village of Banos. Some truly incredible views can be had here, weather permitting. Next, we visit spectacular waterfalls and typical attractions in the area. Ride to Puyo, a capital Amazon village

Test your fitness level in the high paramo regions of Cotopaxi National Park, Quilotoa Crater Lake, and Mojanda Lakes. At lower altitudes we find cloudforest and the warm weathered Chota Valley. Our carefully selected routes are diverse and range from sandy backroads to mud and single tracks
